Okay so I decided to try and write a mini-blog about my experiences of following a C25K programme.
For entertainment purposes I’m using the Zombies Run C25K app. The zombie apocalypse has come to pass and you are Runner 5. It’s made by SixtoStart and it’s a bit of fun while getting your exercise in.
So today after work, Hubby and I went to the gym for the first time since before we went to China. We got on our treadmills and set off. Today’s programme was a 10 minute walk, 10 intervals of 15s running and 1 minute walking then a 10 minute freeform run where you pick whether to walk or run. I chose to walk the whole 10 minutes.
After today’s workout I felt pretty good. Accomplished, there’s nothing about work rattling around in my head and I’m pleasingly tired. I forgot how good exercising can make you feel. It’s a really good stress buster, it takes your mind off of whatever has been making you anxious and my playlist includes Disney tunes which always makes me smile. I was also ‘breathing out my arse’ to use Hubby’s charming turn of phrase and I can hear a slight wheeze in my breathing even now, 2 hours later.
One things for sure, I’ll sleep well tonight!
