Mental Health Weekend…

To be completely frank and, I really mean this wholeheartedly, thank fuck it’s Friday!

For the people who watch the vlogs it’ll come as no surprise that Alan and I take mental health really seriously. In the last 2 and a half years we have both suffered and survived issues with stress, anxiety and depression. It’s something we’re both mindful of and highly attuned to spotting in the other person now. Recently Alan has been struggling and, in an attempt to restore some balance, I have declared this weekend to be a mental health weekend. We’re going to batten down the hatches, lock the doors and essentially abdicate any responsibility for serious decision making or ‘adulting’ of any kind until Monday rolls around.

Sometimes you just need to decompress. Tomorrow morning we do have two errands to run, the sorting office to pick up a couple of parcels and to the supermarket to get supplies. We’ve also decided to go to McDonalds for breakfast. After our errands we’ll come back home and commence Operation De-Stress. For me, decompressing generally involves litres of herbal tea, my favourite blanket and a good book. My intention is to read The Hazel Wood which I received in last months Fairyloot crate. Alan is making noises about deciding on a box set and running with it. To each their own. Our weekend will consist of comfort food, chilling out and generally being very lazy.

Speaking of being very lazy. I’ve been a bit lax with the blogging, something I intend to rectify going forward. I have grand plans which start with the packages we’re collecting tomorrow containing my new bullet journal along with items required for the new habits I’m going to be putting in place for our mental wellbeing. I’ll talk about these habits in future blogs.

I might be back with more blogs this weekend but I definitely intend to start blogging regularly starting Monday. Have a great weekend everyone.
