Anyone who knows me knows that books are near and dear to my heart. So, if you’re giving me money, there’s a high probability I’m going to skip gleefully to the nearest bookshop.
My birthday and Christmas are really close together and this year I was given books as gifts and money which I went and spent on more books. All in all, I’ve been lucky to get 28 new books. That should keep me going for a while.
So, without further ado, here’s what I was given and bought:
-
- Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend – This was given to me by Alan and I’ve actually finished it already!
- Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend
- Seafire by Natalie C Parker
- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
- The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
- The Wise Mans Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
- The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare – This was a gift from my brother-in-law which I was very happy to open on Christmas Day.
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
- Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
- Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
- A Darker Shade of Magic by V E Schwab
- A Gathering of Shadows by V E Schwab
- A Conjuring of Light by V E Schwab
- Coraline by Neil Gaiman
- Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman
- The Complete Father Brown Stories by G K Chesterton
- The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
- Spellslinger by Sebastien De Castell
- The Apprentice Witches Spellbook – This was a birthday gift from Amy
- Warcross by Marie Lu
- Wildcard by Marie Lu
- Happy Food: How eating well can lift your mood and bring you joy – This was a Christmas gift from my parents.
- Ramen: Japanese Noodles & Small Dishes – This was a Christmas gift from Alan
- Lonely Planet’s Where To Go When – This was a gift from my sister
- How to Survive in Space: A Scientists Guide to Life Off Earth – This was also a birthday gift from Amy
- Bitter Harvest by Ann Rule
Two of the books on the above list haven’t arrived from Amazon yet. They should be here in the next day or two. I would have liked to post a photo of them all but I also want to get them shelved before the end of the year. When I was growing up it was a tradition that the whole house was tidied ahead of the New Year in order to start as you mean to go on. It’s something that has stuck with me as an adult so I want to get my library tidied up and everything neatly shelved.
